To Laminate or not to Laminate…That is the question!
This client wanted her brows to look fuller and thicker while enhancing the natural shape. Beautiful results were achieved with lamination and tint.
Brow lamination was performed on this client to achieve subtle enhancement of shape and thickness.
As a master esthetician with 20 years of experience, I’ve seen beauty trends come and go. I myself only perform services that are safe and effective in achieving the desired look or outcome, while using only the highest quality products. I’ve added brow lamination to my service lineup and have been seriously impressed with its ability to achieve thicker, fuller, shapelier eyebrows. Did I mention, lamination has the ability to fix asymmetries as well? Well, it can! Now, I must say that every service out there gets a bad wrap from time to time. This is solely due to low quality products, and user error(bad technique). Brow lamination is brilliant when properly performed. Let me clear up some common misconceptions.
First of all, lamination does not have to leave you with brows that are all sticking straight up! The “bushy brow” look is definitely a trend at the moment and indeed can be achieved with lamination, but that is only one look. Basically, any brow shape and style can be achieved. I can shape brows a million and one different ways, it’s simply up to the client as far as how they want their brows to look. Secondly, lamination will absolutely not damage your brows. When a high quality product is used by a beauty professional with proper technique and experience, this is not going to happen. You simply need to do your research and find an experienced esthetician to perform your service.
So, what is brow lamination exactly? It is a dual process treatment that slightly breaks down the very outer layer of the brow hair to introduce a solution that relaxes the hair into the desired shape and holds it in this position. Think of it as semi-permanent brow gel! Brow lamination will result in the following:
Thicker looking brows
Fuller looking brows
Improved shape of brows
Tames unruly brow hair
Fixes assymetries
Will retain the shape for 6-8 weeks!
So, if you are looking to achieve any of these, brow lamination is for you! I do recommend tinting after laminating to most of my clients as this will only enhance the shape and fuller look of your new brows. Aftercare is very simple. You don’t want to get the brows wet for 24 hours, so plan accordingly. Besides that, it is best to avoid oily products as this will break down the service. Simply brush your brows back into place when you wake up in the morning and they’ll stay all day! So, if you’ve been wondering what brow lamination is all about, now you know! Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
